looking at the image in a collage i immediately consider its own timeline... where it appeared first, what was its original purpose (an ad or fashion shoot or whatever, considering it was for design and had a purpose) ur adding to the images timeline. like a snow ball rolling down the hill gathering snow, growing larger. ive seen that image before, ive opened that book or magazine before, the lighting, that position. it had a specific purpose, weather you embrace that or not, you now carry all that weight.
Wish I could see it in the real, I like the mark making, translucency and colors the best in these works compared to some of your more contrasty work. contrasty, that's a real word.

ReplyDeleteLike the veiled effect ... leaves me feeling engaged and curious yet somewhat disturbed, like I shouldn't be looking.
ReplyDeleteThis entire body of work is partially or fully obscured.
ReplyDeleteit hardly looks obscure. rather, material has been added, you've increased it's visibility.
ReplyDeleteWell, then there you have it.
